Spenshult is the result of 50 years’ experience of rheumatology combined with the latest medical research in the discipline. In addition to its role as a specialist hospital, Spenshult has become a centre for rheumatological research with good contacts both nationally and internationally. We occupy a natural place at the forefront of the medical research consensus and play an important role in the trialling of both new treatment methods and medicines.

Spenshult is a specialist hospital which complements existing rheumatological care facilities in Sweden. At Spenshult all resources and specialists within rheumatology are effectively collected in one place.

The clinic consists of three operating theatres in addition to a post-operative care facility and sterility centre. The majority of orthopaedic operations on rheumatic patients can be performed. Artificial join surgery is available for shoulders, elbows, wrists, finger-joints, hip-joints, knee-joints and ankle joints.

Spenshult is owned by Transmedica A/S. Spenshult offers specialist rheumatological care of the highest quality. Care is administered cost effectively in such a way that the price of a hospital bed is lower than that offered by rheumatological wards within comparable specialist care institutions.
